Dr. Mark Haas

Mark Haas, DPM is a native New Mexican having graduated from Highland High School. He is a former Associate Professor of Surgery at the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco. He is coauthor of the Textbook of Bunion Surgery.
He has lectured both nationally and internationally on current concepts in foot and ankle recomstruction surgery to include the surgical treatment of bunions, hammertoes, bone spurs, and neuromas. He has authored articles on soft tissue and ligamentous ankle injuries.
Dr. Haas has been voted the Top Doc award of Albuquerque in the field of Podiatric Surgery and Medicine for six consecutive years. This award was based on a survey provided to 3100 of the city’s doctors. They were asked a single question “If you had to refer a loved one to a local doctor other than yourself, to whom would you refer them?”
Dr. Haas is an avid runner who has treated professional, collegiate, high school, and recreational athletes. He dedicates a great deal of time treating athletic injuries, fractures, and sprains as well as overuse syndrome such as plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendon problems. He works closely with local running clubs, high school athletic trainers, and coaches.
His hobbies include spending as much time as possible with his family and friends, golf, weight training, and running.
Dr. Zachary Haas

Zachary Maisel Haas, DPM is a third generation podiatrist who completed an intensive residency program at the San Francisco Bay Area Foot and Ankle Residency Program. He has both orthopedic and podiatric specialty training in traumatic, aquired, congenital, and iatrogenic foot and ankle reconstructive surgery. He trained under the guidance of Dr. John Schuberth in complex lower extremity reconstruction and total ankle joint replacements. Dr. Zac Haas is one of the select few foot and ankle surgeons to provide total ankle joint replacements. He spent time with IV Ponseti MD, world renowned pediatric orthopedic specialist, focusing on manipulation and casting techniques for both clubfoot and metatarsus adductus deformities. Dr. Haas is a Fellow in the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
Dr. Zac Haas is a graduate of Albuquerque Academy. He excelled in both football and baseball at Albuquerque Academy having quarterbacked the Chargers to an undefeated season in 1993 and a district title in 1994. He obtained a BS at the University of California at Davis in Biology with an emphasis in neurology, physiology, and behavior. He attended the California School of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco where he graduated magna cum laude. He has obtained numerous awards throughout his undergraduate, medical, and residency education to include the American Board of Podiatric Surgery Outstanding Professional Conduct Award and the Philip Gardner Award for Outstanding Student in Podiatric Medicine. He was published in the Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery for his article entitled Maintenance of Correction of First Metatarsal Closing Base Wedge Osteotomies Versus Modified Lapidus Arthrodesis for Moderate to Severe Hallux Valgus Deformity. He published a chapter in the Clinics of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery entitled Optimizing Outcomes in Bunion Surgery.
He currently is the head coach for the JV football team at Albuquerque Academy and has interests in spending time with his family, hiking, camping, mountain biking, and all outdoor recreation.
Dr. Matthew Cobb

Matthew Davis Cobb, DPM joined Albuquerque Associated Podiatrists from Kaiser Permanente in Walnut Creek,California. He was a co-resident with Dr. Zac Haas at The San Francisco Bay Area Foot and Ankle Residency Program. His training encompasses both orthopedic and podiatric training in traumatic, acquired, congenital, and iatrogenic foot and ankle reconstructive surgery. He has specialty training and a special interest in the pediatric patient with advanced training in clubfoot deformity. At his previous institution, The Ponseti Casting Method was utilized as the primary treatment method for all children born with clubfoot. He spent time with Dr. IV Ponseti, MD focusing on the intricacies of casting and manipulation for the non-surgical management of clubfoot at The University of Iowa.
Dr. Matt Cobb is a transplant from the South East. He played soccer throughout high school and also while in college in Georgia. It is here where he first developed an interest in treating the traumatically injured lower extremity after seeing many injuries during his collegiate career. He received his B.A. from Covenant College with a focus on pre-medicine and a minor in chemistry. He then attended the California College of Podiatric Medicine in Oakland where he received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine and graduated cum laude. He has recently published research in The Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery for his article entitled Minimally invasive arthroscopic assisted reduction with percutaneous fixation in the management of intra-artricular calcaneal fractures: a review of 24 cases.
Dr. Matt Cobb believes in practicing evidenced based medicine allowing individual treatment plans for patients given that no patient is identical. When not treating the foot and ankle, Dr. Matt Cobb enjoys spending time with his family including three children and any outdoor recreational activity.
Dr. Rick B. Roper

Rick B. Roper, DPM recently joined Albuquerque Associated Podiatrists after providing podiatric healthcare in the greater Albuquerque area for over 28 years. He received his undergraduate education from Brigham Young University, his podiatric medical education from the California College of Podiatric Medicine, and his surgical residency training at the Verteran's Administration Medical Center in Albuquerque. He has extensive training and experience in the medical and surgical treatment of forefoot problems along with plantar fasciitis and heel spurs. His previous experience in a podiatric group practice, private practice, and, most recently, with the multi-specialty group, Presbyterian Medical Group brings additional skills and expertise to AAP.
Dr. Roper is the proud father of 7 and grandfather of 6, with more on the way (grandkids, that is). He mostly enjoys time spent with is family, especially with the fun and funny things his grandkids do and say. His home was often filled with music as his kids play the piano, violin, harp, bagpipes, and oboe. Even though he misses the many hours of music in his home he now enjoys being an empty-nester with his sweetheart of over 35 years, Ila. Dr. Roper loves Albuquerque and looks forward to many more years of being a podiatric physician and surgeon.

Gen Benes
Gen has been a loyal and productive asset to our practice for 28 years. During her tenure, she has fulfilled every job position and has comprehensive knowledge of every facet of our daily operations. She is our patient care coordinator who schedules surgical procedures, MRIs, CT scans, and all other diagnostic and surgical procedures. Gen also coordinates prior authorizations. Mary Lou Armendariz
Mary Lou has been a dedicated front office supervisor. She has been an integral part of our front office staff for the past 11 years. She supervises our front office reception area, providing a friendly familiar smile to greet our patients. She will supervise the front office in our new Rio Rancho practice.
Carolyn has served in many capacities with Albuquerque Associates Podiatrists for

Jeannie has been a valuable team member on and off for the past 25 years. She has had the opportunity to work with all three generations of the Haas family. Jeannie is an integral member of our podiatric medical assistant team.
Amanda has been a valuable employee of Albuquerque Associates Podiatrists over the past 9 years. She is part of the back office medical assistant team who is proficient in all aspects of patient care.

Lauren Patton

Kerri Anderson

Jamie Kropf
Jamie provides an efficient and pleasant patient environment to Albuquerque Associated Podiatrists. She is involved in both the front office and billing team. She brings with her over 10 years of experience in medical office management and supervision. Jamie understands the importance of seeing patients in an efficient manner.
Carly recently joined Albuquerque Associated Podiatrists in our front office capacity. Carly is an accomplished collegiate long-distance runner. She has a specific interest in exercise and health and understands the importance of scheduling appointments for our athletic patients in a timely manner.
Heather has joined Albuquerque Associated Podiatrists and is on track to become a certified surgical assistant. She has a tremendous amount of experience in surgical instrumentation and procedures. She is our primary office based operating room medical assistant. She has specialty training in casting
